The Square is very chuffed to be involved in a most special event at Star Cinema next weekend... a screening of the 'Making it Handmade: The Documentary'!
Do come and join us... We'll even have a stall of handmade goodies to purchase, a sampling of what will be at the market on the 18th. Spread the word as it's sure to be a wonderful afternoon!
THINK CRAFT IS FOR GRANNIES? THINK AGAIN
A seditious and subversive subculture is gaining momentum. Following four local women who’ve taken a seemingly staid pastime and injected it with a youthful, modern aesthetic, filmmaker Anna Brownfield shows a side of craft more closely aligned with punk DIY culture than with Martha Stewart and ‘home sweet home’ tapestries.
Direct from the Melbourne International Film Festival, and in anticipation of the inaugural The Square Bendigo's Handmade Market, join us for an exclusive screening of Making It Handmade, a film that celebrates the growing craft revolution in Australia.
The screening will be followed by a Q & A with Anna Brownfield and Belinda Moon (The Square, Bendigo’s Handmade Market) hosted by filmmaker and writer Megan Spencer. A stall showcasing local handmade wares will be available, encouraging patrons to give handmade for Christmas.
Sunday 12th December, 3:30pm.
Tickets $17 / $15 Conc & Members includes film, delicious devonshire tea, Q & A session and your chance to win a magnificent local goodie bag kindly donated by bob boutique!
Book early to avoid disappointment, places strictly limited.
