Spring market done and loved

We had a wonderful day on Saturday... spent lots of time shopping and chatting and picked up some gorgeous things, even started on the christmas shopping (feeling oh so organised)!

It was such a cold day outside but the Town Hall was absolutely the place to be, so many people coming in to browse and buy something special. And thanks to our wonderful line-up of stallholders too, with your beautiful wares and friendly faces! We hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as we did.

Market day tomorrow

The countdown is over and market day is finally upon us... yay!!

Join us from 10am 'til 4pm at the beautiful Town Hall and peruse the wares of over 40 Victorian makers and designers. You can see the whole list of stallholders here.

Something yummy...

One of our favourite foodies, Chef Sonia is baking up a her biggest ever batch of cupcakes to raise funds for Pink Ribbon. There will be freshly baked Red Velvet Cakes, Vanilla Cupcakes and Gluten Free Chocolate Cupcakes available on market day, as well as her full range of Chef Sonia & You cooking packs - all proceeds will go toward Pink Ribbon. You'll find her in the front foyer.

If you'd prefer a coffee with your cupcake, then head to Masons of Bendigo (25 Queen Street) where you can enjoy one of Chef Sonia's cupcakes with a latte or an organic tea.

And we also have The VIntage Baker back with us again for Spring, if you'd like some biscuits to take home too :)

Sneak peek: erin.k jewellery

A new jewellery stall for you to check out on Saturday... the erin.k range in a treasure trove of beautiful and unique designs from Erin Kilty, the designer and maker. Erin is an award winning and versatile designer, making everything from ready-to-wear, everyday jewellery to custom made engagement and wedding rings.

Sneak peek: Catherine Pilgrim

Catherine Pilgrim's stall will be one not to miss on market day... this lady is amazing and very well known in the arty and crafty world. We're really happy to have her join us and if you haven't seen her work before, you're in for a treat!

Catherine Pilgrim's artisan bags and purses are an extension of an established art practice that has always incorporated meticulous attention to detail.  Catherine has been exhibiting widely since 1994 when she arrived home form studying lithography and drawing in Washington DC.  Her work is included in public, corporate and private collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Geelong Regional Gallery, National Australia Bank and Perri Cutten.  In 2011 Catherine finished a Masters in Fine Art.

Sneak peek: Bok Bok B'Gerk

Another of our new stallholders for you to check out today...

Bok Bok B'Gerk will be tripping over from Ballarat to share their great range of laser cut wooden jewellery and accessories with us. The range includes brooches, necklaces and earrings along with a few items for the men in your life including cufflinks, coasters and the odd clock. Designer Michelle draws her Inspiration from everyday objects, turning the mundane objects into fun and quirky pieces.

Sneak peek: The Bear and The Whale

We love having The Bear and The Whale with us on market day... always such a popular stall! Larissa is the lovely and talented lady behind the label, making a gorgeous range of kids clothes and mobiles. Among other things, she'll have a bunch of her classic pinafores with her on market day, and also some of these uber-adorable cheesecloth pants (how perfect would those be for the little peeps heading off to the beach?!).

Are you a bag lady? Today's post is for you :)

Josephene by Jo Lucchesi is a range of beautifully designed and individually crafted handbags, clutches, cosmetic purses and coin pouches. The whole range is beautifully crafted and quality that will last. Jo's stall will also be showcasing her latest product, The Ruffle.... wear it as a collar, necklace, shrug or belt. It so versatile, looking great dressed up or down and comes in a rainbow of colours.

Sneak peek: Two Layers of Cells

As soon as we saw these great lamps we loved them and know you will too... 

Founded by Melbourne Artist Jane Crappsley, Two Layers of Cells is a collaboration between light and art, producing a range of limited edition lamp shades and light boxes. Their range includes limited edition lamp shades as well as light boxes made from recycled and re-purposed materials. Unique and beautiful quality products!

Our favourite is the 'Draw-Your-Own Lamp Shade Kit', an amazing and creative way for children to make their own lamp shade. How great is that?! Certainly make a unique gift for an artistically inclined little one (or a grown-up one for that matter!).

Countdown to the Spring market - stallholders announced!

We have been waiting oh so patiently for the end of winter. Enough with the cold, hello Spring!

And what better way to celebrate than filling the Town Hall with a whole lotta handmade goodness. We've just put up the full list of stallholders - click here (or on the Spring market link on the right). A bunch of new stallholders this time around which we're absolutely loving, and, of course, some of our favourites are returning again. As always, we'll be posting a few stallholder sneak peeks here on the blog between now and market day.

 

We are also happy to let you know that our Spring market is being proudly supported by Connect Pink, which is a social media initiative for women across Australia from The Bendigo Advertiser and Fairfax. Click over and check it out. There will be an info table in the front foyer on market day where you can have a chat to learn more and sign up.

We're also hosting the lovely Chef Sonia (of Masons of Bendigo fame) at this market. She'll be baking up a storm of yummy cupcakes for her fundraising stall for Pink Ribbon, the foundation dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness and funding for research. Sonia is amazing in the kitchen so we know those cupcakes are going to be oh so good...
