We're done for 2012!

The christmas market was such a nice way to end the year. So many people through the doors, followed by so many bags of handmade goodies walking out the doors! Many thanks to shoppers and stallholders alike, we had a wonderful market weekend.

We spent quite a bit of time shopping, chatting and happy-snapping...

Market weekend is upon us! Yay!

Market day tomorrow...

We have completely differenct stallholders each day, check out the full list and make sure you don't miss any of your favourites. And don't skimp on buying something on Saturday because you won't be able to catch that stall again on Sunday. Two days, two different markets. So much choice and so many creative, wonderful wares to peruse. And a few essential yummies to sustain you through the chrissy shopping too!

Remember that the mornings are really busy in the hall, so if you're coming with prams/kids/groups/elderly/impatient husbands/etc. we recommend coming after lunch when the crowds have thinned a little. Our stallholders know to stock up so you don't need to be worried about them selling out of the good stuff before you get there :)

Those with prams will find access easiest via the ramp at the rear of the building and you are welcome to leave them in the rear foyer while they shop. Just park your pram against the walls so the walkways remain clear.

 

We're so looking forward to seeing the beautiful Town Hall brimming with handmade goodness for the next two days... we love our little market and are planning a whole lotta shopping ourselves. See you there!

Sneak peek: tillytom

The very last of the stall sneak peeks... another one for the smalls in your life. Anna from tillytom will be bringing her gorgeous kids clothing and accessories range to market on Sunday. With the arrival of summer, her new swimwear range couldn't be better timed! Check out the cute girl's swimmer in nice bright colours and ruffles.

Sneak peek: Milton Long Jewellery

Coming to the end of our sneak peeks for the christmas market...

A long time favourite of The Square is Bendigo-local studio jeweller Milton Long, who has been designing and making distinctive jewellery for over 25 years. The range includes earrings, necklaces, and brooches in style characterised by simplicity of design, wearability, durability and a highly professional finish. Milton works predominantly with sterling silver employing traditional jewellery techniques, and likes to incorporate unusual semi-precious stones, crystals, titanium and vintage plastics into his pieces.

Sneak peek: Wouldwood

Trading at The Square for the first time will be new jewellery label Wouldwood, all about timber & colour! Each item in their range is cut, sanded, painted and finished by hand, making every single piece unique. The Wouldwood stall will be full of their wonderful necklaces, earring and bracelets. Catch them at market on Sunday.

Sneak peek: The Bear and The Whale

A super cute stall for the small people today... one of our long-time favourites and definately a favourite with market goers too! The lovely Larissa from The Bear and the Whale will be setting up shop with us again. Find all her handmade goodness in the front foyer on Sunday.

Sneak peek: Jubly-Umph

Yet another new face at The Square to share with you today... we love that after two years of doing the market we're still seeing new faces and fresh products come through our inbox. Yay! Hope you guys are enjoying it too :)

Today is Melbourne label Jubly-Umph, an artist who paints pictures in watercolours and indian ink. Her lovely lady heads are instantly recognisable and owning one is like being in a secret club. She is influenced by traditional tattoos, folk art and Victorian sentimental ephemera. Her paintings are available in limited edition giclee prints, eco-friendly greeting cards, lovely handbags and resin coated jewellery pieces under the brand Jubly-Umph Originals. Check out her stall with us on Saturday.

Sneak peek: Rebound Books

We love Rebound Books... seriously. Great product, great people and absolutely something for everyone. Catch them on Sunday. But get in line behind me!

Rebound Books started in 2005, taking old second hand books and recycling them into Journals, Sketchbooks, Photo Albums, Pocket Books and Jotters. Their printed range includes 2013 Diaries, Lined Journals, Graph Books and A-Z Books. They also carefully recycle the spines of books to make Bookmarks and Fridge Magnets. They offset the carbon emissions for all of their printed lines and use only 100% recycled, Australian made paper and card stock in the stationery.

Sneak peek: Pompette & Master

Christmas is about the smalls... and we have more than a few gorgeous stalls catering for that most important demographic at the chrissy market!

One new face in children's wear for you to check out on Sunday is Pompette and Master. Created by a pair of local ladies, their label provides clothing for kid's that is not only comfortable and practical, but also shows a love of design and fabric. The Pompetter and Master stall will have shorts, jeans, skirts, dresses, nappy covers, tunics, bibs, tops, hankies, beanies and pencil wraps.

Sneak peek: Bags by Meg

Yay for bag ladies! You may remember Bags by Meg and for this market she'll have a bunch of lovely things with her again, including her gorgeously made shoulder bags, clutch purses, nappy wallets, iPad covers and sweet little coin purses. You'll love te fabrics Meg chooses too!
