Well, what a day! Thank you to everyone who came down to the market and enjoyed some handmade goodness. The crowd coming through the door was constant all day, some of you even returning two or three times for more...
We had over 800 entries for our giveaway hamper and we're happy to say that one lucky lady was super excited to have won. Here's Jodie happily calling our winner and the bunch of goodies that now have a new home. Thanks to you all for entering and also for the great feedback and suggestions you gave us on the forms too.
Quick thank you to the local media that came down to take some happy snaps too. Be sure to keep an eye on WIN news tonight and we're also in the Addy today.
Saturday was so much fun, we had a ball putting this market together and showing off some of the creative and talented makers around these parts! Applications are open for the 18th June, 17th September and 10th December markets. We are already in planning mode for the next one :)
This is our last sneak peek for you... i do wish we had time to introduce you to more of our autumn stallholders but you'll just need to come down tomorrow and check them out for yourselves!
You'll adore the pretty Miss Ruby May stall on Saturday. Her range includes unique dolls, cushions, buntings and little handbags, all sewn using a variety of vintage inspired and floral fabrics. Even the boys are catered for, with pirate and cowboy dolls available too.
More about Miss Ruby May on the website and you can keep up with her on facebook too. One lucky shopper will also win one of these sweet creations, as a little doll has been generously contributed to our giveaway hamper!
Chris Cope is a local amateur photographer whose works focuses on the iconic buildings & statues of Bendigo, birds and orchids. Chris's work will be available in numerous formats on market day, including canvas prints, framed photos and gift cards.
You can check out the website for more images and info about Chris. He has also kindly donated a mounted print to our giveaway hamper, thank you!
Milton Long is a contemporary studio jeweller based right here in Bendigo, who has been developing his craft for over 25 years. His work is beautifully unique, featuring strong yet simple design influences and quality craftsmanship. On Saturday Milton will be sharing his latest range, the Ruga Series, just a few samples of this stunning range are pictured below.
A pair of earrings from this range has been generously contributed to our giveaway hamper, thank you Milton. You can read more about the series of work here and view more jewellery on the website.
VIntage Chenille is the work of the lovely Leah, based out Mildura way, who will be joining us at the Town Hall with her range of softies and quilts. Leah started collecting vintage chenille bedspreads to make her daughter a quilt, and the collecting seems to have become an addiction! We can be thankful though, because each of her creations is soft, snuggly and perfectly sweet.
And check out the chicks in the middle there, they're squeaky! Perfect for easter gifts. We've also just received a little something from Leah to add to our giveaway hamper!
You can shop for Vintage Chenille online at Etsy or Madeit, and keep up with her creative life on her blog.
Seriously, you guys are in for a treat on Saturday... a couple of weeks ago we decided to have a giveaway for all you handmade loving market-goers, so we put a call out for contributions to all of our Autumn stallholders. They have been wonderfully generous and the resulting gift basket we have to give away to one lucky person is completely fantastic.
Details on how to enter are down the bottom of this post. Check out these goodies!!!
EDIT 24th March: We have received a couple of late additions to the hamper (our stallholders have been amazingly generous, someone is going to be super luck on Saturday!!!) from VIntage Chenille there is a sweet babushka doll and Mim Whimsy has put in a gorgeous brooch. Thanks ladies.
What a great haul of handmade!
For your chance to win, you will need to fill out an entry form that will be available at the front entrance of the Town Hall on market day. Answer a few quick questions and pop it in the entry box! Easy. We'll draw the winner at about 3:45 and give them a call, so be sure to supply a mobile number that we can contact you on all day.
Someone is going to be so very lucky...
A few more sneak peeks to come before market day, so we'll see you here again tomorrow.
